Two people were rushed to hospital after a serious collision between a car and a bus carrying 20 high school students.

The crash happened at the intersection of Bank Street and Princes Highway in Traralgon, in Victoria’s Gippsland region, at around 3.50pm on Thursday.

Multiple emergency services resources were deployed to the scene.

Two people were taken to Latrobe Regional Health, including the driver of the car, who suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

The bus driver and the students on board were unharmed.

Police have launched an investigation to clarify the exact circumstances of the accident, which have not yet been determined.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage is urged to call police or Crime Stoppers.
