Donald Trump will name Florida Senator Marco Rubio as Secretary of State, sources told DailyMail.com.
Rubio, who was elected to the Senate in 2010, is considered a foreign policy hawk and will lead Trump’s exploits on the world stage.
He currently serves as the top Republican on the Senate Intelligence Committee and was considered on Trump’s short list for vice president earlier this year.
Rubio is the son of Cuban immigrants and has built his image in Washington on being tough on Iran and China.
Trump is determined to end Russia’s war in Ukraine from the first day of his second term.
And the Middle East, in chaos amid Israel’s conflict with Hamas, Hezbollah and Iran, will prove challenging as China continues its efforts to sabotage the United States.
Rubio ran unsuccessfully for president in 2016 against Trump in a crowded field of Republican hopefuls.
And although the two faced off during the primaries, Rubio did not support Trump on the campaign trail in recent weeks.

The days of Trump calling Rubio ‘little Marco’ and ridiculing him seem to be in the past.
Rubio recently said that Trump’s brash language could win him the presidency because candidates who use emotional words get more votes in times of crisis.
It turned out to be true when Trump swept all seven swing states and won the popular vote for Republicans for the first time in decades.
Rep. Carlos Gimenez, R-Fla., praised Trump’s selection of Rubio.
‘Congratulations to our own SECRETARY OF STATE, who will be the highest-ranking Hispanic in the history of the United States!’ wrote in X.
The Florida senator’s election comes as Trump works overtime to shape his future Cabinet from his headquarters in Palm Beach, Florida.
The president-elect on Monday named top immigration adviser Stephen Miller as his deputy chief of staff for policy as his administration focuses on an unprecedented border offensive.
Miller was the architect of Trump’s immigration plan during his first term and will be on the front lines of the president-elect’s plan to carry out the largest mass deportation in history.
The decision comes less than 24 hours after Trump tapped former Immigration and Customs Enforcement Director Tom Homan as his border czar.
Appointed Rep. Elise Stefanik, R.N.Y., to the position of U.S. ambassador to the United Nations.
And Rep. Michael Waltz of Florida will be his national security adviser.
Waltz, a former Army Green Beret, has established himself as one of the House’s top China hawks and was tapped after Trump’s busy day to bolster his Cabinet.
Among the various China-related bills Waltz has co-sponsored are measures designed to decrease U.S. dependence on critical minerals mined in China. He is also known as a NATO skeptic amid his work during the war in Ukraine.
Waltz, like other White House advisers, would not require Senate confirmation as department heads do. Trump has already signaled that he will avoid the Senate during recess appointments.
Trump had mixed luck with four national security advisers during his first term.
Michael Flynn, HR McMaster, Robert O’Brien and John Bolton filled that role.
Rubio recently called for an investigation into Kamala Harris’ vice president pick, Tim Walz, after his affair with the daughter of a CCP official.
The Minnesota governor and former running mate of Kamala Harris had the affair while living and teaching in China in 1989.
Walz was romantically involved with Jenna Wang, 59, who claims the vice presidential hopeful showered her with gifts and seduced her at his tiny staff quarters in Guangdong province.
The couple was sexually active, traveled together and dated frequently, Wang told DailyMail.com, and they hid everything from her father, who was then a high-ranking CCP official.

After close ties between Walz and Wang were discovered, Florida Republican Sen. Marco Rubio demanded to know more.
He said Walz should be investigated for his relationship with Wang because “voters deserve to know.”
