Rep. Summer Lee gave a shocking response to a reporter who asked her about the rape and murder of 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray at the hands of illegal immigrants, claiming not to know who he was.

Johan José Rangel Martínez, 21, and Franklin José Peña Ramos, 26, are accused of brutally murdering the 12-year-old girl and dumping her body in a stream. Both arrived illegally from Venezuela.

The Pennsylvania Democrat, who proudly touts endorsements from the likes of Bernie Sanders and ‘The Squad,’ was sought out by a reporter at the Capitol to discuss the issue on Wednesday.

When asked her opinion about the brutal crime, the legislator’s response was surprising, stating that she did not know the journalist or Nungaray.

“Oh, I’m sorry, I don’t talk to strangers; I don’t even know who you are and I don’t know who she is; I’m out of Pittsburgh,” he said.

Congresswoman Summer Lee surprisingly responded to a reporter who asked her about the rape and murder of 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray by illegal immigrants, claiming not to know who she was.

The reporter was fox business‘Hillary Vaughn, who was trying to get progressives’ opinion on the Nungaray murder.

“I don’t know anything about it,” Lee added before walking away from Vaughn and heading to a Capitol office.

Police said Martinez and Ramos lured the preteen under a bridge and sexually assaulted her for two hours before strangling her to death.

Nungaray’s battered body was recovered from a creek near her Houston home on June 17 after she ran away after her bedtime.

While both prosecutors and police believe the young woman was raped, the alleged attackers have not yet been charged with sexual assault and the results of the victim’s rape kit are still pending.

If charged with sexual crimes, prosecutors may seek the death penalty.

During the court hearing, prosecutors said Martinez-Rangel had bite marks and scratches on his arm. He had also shaved his facial hair after the murder to avoid discovery.

Assistant District Attorney Megan Long and the lead prosecutor said in court that Pena Ramos told police she allegedly tried to convince Rangel Martinez to stop, but he allegedly refused and climbed on top of Jocelyn and choked her. .

On Monday, Peña Ramos, also accused of killing the 12-year-old girl, claimed he only kissed Jocelyn and denied any wrongdoing.

Both men are Venezuelan immigrants who entered the United States illegally across the southern border.

Just two days after Nungaray’s body was found, police say Ramos cut off an ankle monitor that was fitted to him when he illegally crossed the border in El Paso on May 28.

The discarded ankle monitor was found last Wednesday NewsNation reported.

He also allegedly asked his employer for extra money at a construction site so he could get out of town.

But the chief contacted police and Ramos was arrested, according to the Houston Chronicle.

In court Monday, Judge Josh Hill set Ramos’ bail at $10 million, double what prosecutors recommended and 10 times the amount requested by the defense.
