Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix appeared to come to blows with his head coach, Sean Payton, in Sunday’s win against the Las Vegas Raiders.
The rookie appeared to be furious with the call to punt on a third-quarter drive.
Nix could be seen in an animated discussion with Payton with his helmet still on. Broncos assistants could be seen intervening, appearing to tell Nix to back away and Payton even had his hand on Nix to try to get him to keep his distance.
Despite his fury, Nix and the Broncos were having a good game and led 20-10 at the time of the incident.
Nix gave a funny response when asked about the incident after the game, saying, “Yeah, he turned around and looked at me and said ‘I love you’ and I said ‘I love you.'”

Nix appeared to be upset that his team had made the decision to punt on a drive in the third quarter.
But many former NFL players watching the incident from home thought it was actually a positive sign for Nix and the Broncos.
Former NFL quarterback Chase Daniel praised Nix for holding his own against Payton, writing on X, “I really love this about Bo Nix.”
‘Sean Payton is going to get angry on the bench, but if you really think you’re right… give it back. That shows how competitive they both are.
Ryan Clark also wrote in X: Bo Nix talking to Sean Payton like Sean Payton used to talk to Russell Wilson! Wow, how the tables have turned.
Tyler Polumbus, who won the Super Bowl with the Broncos, said, “I love it, remember when Russ took it from Sean?” “This is healthy and a sign of confidence from Bo Nix, if you ask me.”
Meanwhile, Skip Bayless tweeted: “If your name isn’t Drew Brees, Sean Payton will yell at you if you’re his quarterback.” Ask Russell Wilson. Sean chose Bo Nix to be his puppet QB.
“Now that Denver is 3-2, the rookie puppet is developing a mind of his own.”
And moments later, Nix came out and threw a dime to Josh Reynolds for his first Broncos touchdown, extending the team’s lead to seven.
They ended up winning the game 34-18, moving to 3-2 for the season with their third straight win.
Nix finished the game with 206 yards, scoring a touchdown and finding Reynolds after colliding with Payton.
