A plus-size travel blogger who goes on holiday “at least once a month” has shared the changes she wants to see in the travel industry to make it more inclusive for larger people, including measures that airlines and hotels They could take to accommodate curvier guests.
Emily Jones, who posts about her jet-setting lifestyle to her 332,000 Instagram followers as @Miss Jones, He said that when it comes to hotels, it’s the little things that make the difference.
She commented: ‘A small adjustment that would make people feel more comfortable would be to offer plus size towels and bathrobes.
“This would make the stay much more comfortable and inclusive for plus-size people.”
The size 20 Instagrammer, who splits her time between Malta, the UK and Helsinki, wants airlines to make things easier for passengers too, starting with making the process of boarding a flight easier and clearer for those who need settings.

Emily (pictured above in Malta) says the UK is ideal for plus-size people, but warns that some Asian countries can be harder to navigate.

She told MailOnline: ‘It would be great if airlines could announce during boarding that if anyone needs a seatbelt extension it is available.
‘In my experience and what people tell me in my online messages, asking for an extension is a big fear for plus-size people. “I would love to see this destigmatized so people can travel comfortably and without additional anxiety.”
Seat belt extensions are available on most airlines and consist of an adjustable, clip-on seat belt section that lengthens the distance the belt can extend before fastening.
Earlier this year, curvy influencer Gracie Bon, 26, called on airlines to make airplane seats larger as she claims she can’t fit her butt in them.
Emily wants to improve the amount of “representation” top tourists get in travel media
It seems Emily agrees.
When asked about the biggest challenge the curvy influencer faces while traveling, she said, “I think airplane seats are notoriously uncomfortable for most plus-size people.”
“On top of that, there are definitely some countries that aren’t used to seeing plus-size people, so you may get some awkward looks.”
For any plus-size travelers looking to book their next trip, Emily has some suggestions on which countries are the easiest to navigate on a larger body and which are more challenging.
Emily commented: ‘In my opinion, the UK is really inclusive and makes things more comfortable.
‘The Maldives was complicated because the seaplanes are really small. I haven’t explored much more Asia yet, but I understand that some areas may be uncomfortable for plus-sized people.’
Emily also recommended a destination in Africa that she said was a good experience for her.
She noted: ‘I recently visited the Seychelles and had an amazing trip.
‘The nature of the islands is incredible, but the friendly and welcoming people really made it one of the best places I have ever been. I would highly recommend it.’
As part of her encouragement to other plus-size people, Emily shares video clips of herself enjoying glamorous hotels, luxury pools and sandy beaches on Instagram.
