Defense agreement: BAE Systems has signed an agreement with the Ministry of Defense to repair L119 light weapons

The UK’s largest defense company, BAE Systems, has secured another Government contract as the war in Ukraine continues.

It has signed an agreement with the Ministry of Defense to repair the L119 cannons used against Russia. The weapon is known for its precise firepower and easy mobility and has been widely used by Ukrainian forces.

BAE has benefited from rising global defense spending following Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine, and demand has also been stoked by conflict in the Middle East and tensions between the United States and China.

Under the contract, BAE will provide maintenance, repair and overhaul services in Ukraine.

As the original manufacturer of the howitzer, BAE has been working with allied governments since the start of the war to assist with training and support.

It reported excellent results for 2023, raking in sales of £25 billion and profits of £3 billion.
