The head of Audi Italia died after falling from 210 metres while climbing alone in the Alps.
Fabrizio Longo, director of Audi Italia, was hiking on Saturday in Cima Payer, on Mount Adamello, when he fell.
The 62-year-old, who was an expert climber, was reportedly equipped with steel cables, ladders and other aids along his route.
However, a helicopter crew located his body about 700 feet inside a gorge after a fellow climber saw him fall and called emergency services.
The prosecution will now investigate his death and a date will be set for the funeral following Longo’s death. The body is handed over to his family.
