Tributes have poured in for 23-year-old Perth man Bailey Burns (pictured, right) after he died in a horror crash on Saturday.

The family and friends of a young man have been left in shock after he died in a high-speed crash.

Bailey Burns, 23, lost control of her car and crashed into a tree on the Canning Highway in Attadale, south of Perth, early on Saturday morning.

Western Australian Police have since confirmed that officers were pursuing Mr Burns at the time after spotting his Holden Statesman driving at high speed.

He died at the scene, despite desperate efforts by emergency services to save him.

Harrowing images from the scene show the car overturned and split in two by the force of the crash with pieces of the vehicle strewn across the Canning Highway.

Mr Burns’ death sparked an outpouring of tributes on social media.

“I’m still in shock hearing this. Rest easy,” wrote one.

Another added: “Hug your loved ones a little closer.”

Hours after his death, a GoFundMe It was launched to help Mr Burns’ family pay for his funeral and the “farewell he deserves”.

“For those who know, we all recently lost a dear soul, Bailey Burns,” the fundraising page reads.

‘This Go Fund is to help cover funeral costs and anything else related, our little family appreciates any donations big or small.’

GoFundMe has raised over $34,000 in hours.

Major accident investigators conducted an examination of the scene while the Internal Affairs Unit launched its own investigation.

Anyone with information or images of the Holden Statesman prior to the crash is urged to contact police.
