Angel Reese chose to attend an NBA Summer League game instead of the WNBA event

Angel Reese skipped the WNBA’s orange carpet event on Thursday night as the Chicago Sky rookie decided to attend an NBA Summer League game and offered a rare critique of the WNBA.

Reese was selected to play in the WNBA All-Star Game this weekend, and the league kicked off the weekend with a special event in Phoenix.

However, while Caitlin Clark and A’ja Wilson were among those who dressed up for the orange carpet, Reese was across the state, enjoying the NBA Summer League action in Las Vegas, Nevada.

She was previously spotted alongside Celtics star Jaylen Brown and his girlfriend (and fellow WNBA player) Kysre Gondrezick playing in a Lakers Summer League game earlier this week.

Reese wasn’t trying to hide her whereabouts Thursday when she posted a courtside selfie to her Instagram Story.

She was also shown on televisionwhile she was seen chatting with a friend.

One fan criticized the Chicago Sky player, writing, “Angel made me mad. Your first All Star event as a rookie and you’re still in Vegas for a damn summer league game? Goodnight man.”

Reese then replied, “It’s okay, babe. I’m minding the business that PAYS me.”

It’s unclear why he would be paid to attend an NBA Summer League game.

In Phoenix, Clark, Wilson and other WNBA stars stepped onto the orange carpet two days before the WNBA All-Stars faced Team USA.

Clark, who was not selected for the Olympic roster, was equally smiling as she posed for photographs.

Las Vegas Aces star Wilson, who is heading to Paris later this month, was also in good spirits as she wore a black lace dress.
