He has been one of the most vocal supporters of both the Democratic Party and failed presidential candidate Kamala Harris.
But on Wednesday, Andy Cohen had a surprisingly upbeat reaction to Harris’ crushing defeat at the hands of Donald Trump in the 2024 election.
Despite voting for Harris and campaigning for her on social media, Cohen, 56, reacted to her loss by sharing a message of hope and unity with her 5.5 million followers.
In a video shared on Instagram, Cohen can be seen asking his five-year-old son Ben for his “opinion on the election.”
The young man responded: “Donald (Trump) won.”

“He did it,” Cohen said with a tired smile. ‘And what do you think? Well, we love our country, don’t we?
He continued: ‘We love our country, yes we do. We will persist, we will move forward.”
Sharing the video on Instagram, Cohen captioned it: “God bless America.”
The unifying statement delighted many of the Bravo star’s followers, who took to the comments to praise him for not being divisive.
“I’m impressed with this post Andy, it’s kind and I’m glad we agree that we all love our country,” one wrote.
Another added: ‘Love this post @bravoandy we always move forward. If Ben runs away one day…no one will stand a chance.
A third wrote: “You’ll be fine.” You will still make money and get drunk on New Year’s.

Cohen was one of Harris’ biggest supporters and had voted for the vice president after claiming she would be better than Trump on women’s issues.
“I’m voting for Kamala Harris because I believe women should have jurisdiction over their bodies,” he wrote last month.
“As a gay American father who had children through IVF, the Supreme Court is on the ballot and I don’t want it to be filled with (more) right-wing extremists who will take away my rights,” he continued.
“She is mentally prepared to serve as Commander in Chief and is not too old for the position. The United States should never reach out to dictators.
‘She will be a president for all Americans. I believe January 6 was one of the darkest days in our history, the result of a weak man’s fragile ego.
Harris ultimately suffered a humiliating loss to Trump and could even be on track for the worst Electoral College result of any Democrat since the 1988 race.
