An American influencer has angered Brits after she attempted to make a “proper” cup of tea, with some saying they needed “therapy” after watching her make the drink.
Kelsey Pomeroy, who lives in Kansas, took to her Instagram @kelsewhatelse to share a clip of her trying to make “the perfect cup of British tea” to celebrate the new season of Netflix’s Bridgerton.
However, Kelsey raised some eyebrows when she began mixing the cold water and milk in a pot before boiling it into a foamy mixture.
Many rushed to the horrified comments, with one Briton saying: “My eyes tremble with English rage.”
Speaking to her 178,000 followers, Kelsey said: “I’m an American learning how to make a proper cup of British tea because I’m hosting a tea party in honor of the Bridgerton premiere.”

The mother continued to baffle her British followers as she walked over to the stove and boiled a mixture of water and milk until it frothed.
Looking confused, she asked, ‘What temperature am I supposed to boil at?’ (Is it) a low and slow situation, or do I boil it hot and high? I don’t know.’
The content creator then proceeded to steep a tea bag in a cup and poured the milky mixture over it.
He added a spoonful of sugar and, considering the preparation time, asked, ‘A tea bag or two?’ I’m going to pick one, (this chart) says brew for a minute or two, but I feel like the internet says at least three or four.
‘Do I do one or two minutes or three or four minutes? …I let the tea bag steep for three minutes.’
