Abbie Chatfield broke down in tears during an emotional Instagram video on Wednesday as she talked about her dating struggles while suffering from ADHD.
The Bachelor star, 28, who was admitted to a health retreat last year for “exhaustion,” shared the lengthy video shortly after going public with Peking Duk frontman Adam Hyde on his podcast It’s A Lot .
She began the video by thanking her fans for their support following her big relationship reveal, adding, “You know how hard I’ve been through recently and, you know, particularly over the last year.”
“For example, all of 2023 and also in general, with men and dating and just in life,” he said.
Abbie went on to explain that it’s harder for her to be in a relationship than other women because of her ADHD and her struggle with “trauma.”

‘I never thought someone would love me so much because of my ADHD or other traumas I have. Like CPTSD (complex post-traumatic stress disorder) and all that stuff,” she said through tears.
‘Many of the things you don’t even know have already happened. “A lot of really bad things have happened, especially last year,” he added.
The Masked Singer judge said she’s been cheated on “a million times,” but that doesn’t even scratch the surface of what she’s been through.

“Having someone cheat on me isn’t even the surface layer of what I’ve been through in my life and in my relationships,” she said.
She explained that her new romance with Adam has broken the mold.
He said he previously had a habit of hiding his personality from his partners, a behavior he referred to as “masking,” but that he doesn’t need to do that with his last partner.
“I always thought I would somehow accommodate or mask myself in my relationships, and I walked to dinner last night and realized I would never mask myself with Adam,” she enthused.
She began the video by thanking her fans for their support following her big relationship reveal, adding, “You know how hard I’ve been through recently and, you know, particularly over the last year.”
Abbie concluded by sharing an encouraging message for her fellow fans with ADHD who are also struggling to find love.
“There’s someone out there (for you), and if there isn’t, you’ll be fine and you’ll be better off alone,” he said.
“I know it’s weird to hear that… but I wish that when I was single, I would let myself be a jellyfish in the ocean and like ride the wave instead of freaking out about it.”
The reality star urged his fans not to settle for an average man like a corporate guy called Tom who works at PricewaterhouseCoopers.
‘If you see yourself in me, then I know you are truly unique and I know you probably don’t feel normal… I know you are truly special.’“It’s going to take someone really special and you need to be there.”
Abbie’s new found happiness comes after a few difficult years.

In March 2023, Abbie also abandoned a lucrative book deal she signed in 2020 with Affirm Press to write a feminist manifesto.
Abbie announced in August 2023 that she left her popular radio show after suffering burnout caused by workaholism.
“I tried to write, I couldn’t write anything,” he confessed at the time.
