A Texas grandmother is left heartbroken after her infant granddaughter was found dead inside a tool bag and dumped in a lake in central Texas.
The baby, identified as Peyton Sky Davis, was found Aug. 31 by a fisherman at Fort Phantom Hill Lake in Abilene.
The boy’s mother, Heather Kennedy, 20, and her boyfriend, Donald Schulz, 35, were arrested and now face charges of tampering with a human corpse.
Schultz, who has not registered as a sex offender, faces additional charges. KTAB/KRBC reported.
Investigators said more charges could be filed, according to KTSX News.
The girl’s grandmother, Tracy Davis, posted a beautiful photo of her granddaughter wearing a pink onesie and the caption: “My beautiful granddaughter Peyton Sky Davis, we all love you. Rest in peace little one, fly high.”

Baby Petyon was born in February 2024.
Davis told the outlet she never had the chance to hug or see her granddaughter in person.
“It hurts us a lot not to be able to hug her, not to be able to give her the love that we share for her,” said the devastated grandmother.
According to Davis, Peyton’s mother used to video call her granddaughter so she could see her, but those calls would end abruptly.
She received the heartbreaking news from the Abilene Police Department that baby Peyton was dead.
Kennedy and Schultz are being held in the Taylor County Jail with bail set at $510,000 for him and $350,000 for Kennedy.
