Two people have died after a car crashed into a tree before being engulfed in flames.
The horror accident happened at Burnt Bridge Creek Deviation in Balgowlah shortly before 11pm on Wednesday.
According to police, the black Toyota Corolla crashed into a tree before catching fire.
A 23-year-old man and his passenger, a 26-year-old woman, died at the scene.
Officers from Northern Beaches Police Area Command established a crime scene which was then examined by specialist police.
An investigation has been launched to determine if speed was a factor.
A report will be prepared for the information of the medical examiner.
