A young mother died unexpectedly in her sleep at just 25 years old, leaving her family devastated and searching for answers.

Ruby-Lee Arnott, from Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula, died overnight on July 7, leaving behind three children and her partner, who had planned to propose to her on their anniversary just days later.

“We’re still trying to come to terms with the fact that it’s real,” Ruby-Lee’s mother, Stacey Arnott, told Daily Mail Australia.

He said Ruby-Lee and her partner Korey had been planning to visit the Dandenongs, where he would pop the question with a custom ring he had made.

“It’s been a very difficult last few days,” Arnott said.

‘Ruby was truly an amazing mother. I was so proud of her, she had so much patience with the children and did so much for them.

“We still don’t have any answers, which of course makes it harder not to know,” he said, adding that the family is awaiting autopsy results.

‘She had been suffering from a cold for a few days, as had her partner and her children, and two days earlier she had complained to her cousin of chest pain.’

Her friend Angie Galbraith said at the fundraiser that Ruby was a “vibrant, caring person who touched the lives of everyone she met.”

“We are heartbroken to announce the sudden and tragic passing of our dear friend,” he said.

‘She leaves behind three beautiful little children, Amelia, seven, Chase, five, and Violet, ten months, who will always cherish the memories of their wonderful mother.’

He said any additional funds after funeral expenses would be used to help his children.

Another friend, Trish Scarlett, said the pair formed a friendship at a young age when they were hanging out in a sandpit and Ruby made her laugh by pointing out some cat poop.

“When we were little, all we talked about was her becoming a mother, and it was so beautiful for her to see him become a mother,” she said. The Herald of the Sun.

She described her as “unique” and “a rock” and said she would miss her friend dearly.
