Mo Salah has joined an illustrious list of players who have achieved an impressive feat in the Premier League.

The Liverpool striker scored and assisted on his return from injury as the Reds swept Brentford, winning 4-1.

Salah replaced the injured Diogo Jota in the first half and set up Alexis Mac Allister in the second before scoring his own goal to make it 3-0.

In doing so, Salah became the fourth player in Premier League history to score and assist in 30 or more games.

Only Alan Shearer (31), Thierry Henry (32) and Wayne Rooney (36) surpass him in this metric in the pantheon of greats.

Salah earned an 8 in Mail Sport’s player ratings as he pulled off the ideal comeback ahead of next weekend’s Carabao Cup final against Chelsea.

However, it was another worrying day for Liverpool’s medical department, who will have to make even more space on the treatment table.

Curtis Jones and Diogo Jota were substituted in the first half. Jota was stretchered off, while Jones was seen after the match with crutches and a protective boot.

To make matters worse, Darwin Nunez was substituted at half-time despite scoring a splendid goal, with Jurgen Klopp confirming he was taken off due to a “small problem.”

“(It’s) mixed emotions because we lost players, and we don’t know how serious it is,” Klopp said. “It’s not looking very good for either of them (Jones and Jota).”

Trent Alexander-Arnold, Alisson, Domink Szoboszlai, Joel Matip, Thiago, Ben Doak and Stefan Bajcetic are also injured, giving Klopp a major headache.

He will be glad to have Salah back after suffering an injury with Egypt at the African Cup of Nations in January.

Salah was flown back to Merseyside for treatment after losing in Egypt’s 2-2 group stage draw against Ghana and only returned against Brentford.

Alan Shearer is one ahead of Salah, having scored and assisted in 32 Premier League games.

It has been another strong season for Salah, who has 19 goals and 10 assists to his name.

Liverpool initially extended their lead to five points over Arsenal and Manchester City with the victory, although the Gunners reduced it with a demolition job of their own, defeating Burnley 5-0 at Turf Moor.
