Detectives were still searching for missing body parts and also her clothing, local media said.

Despite this, a funeral ceremony was held for the tragic tourist before her body was returned to Russia.

Detectives suspect the killer intended to cut up her body, but ultimately buried it in a makeshift grave on the island.

The suspect reportedly led police to the grave in La Marie, a residential area.

He confessed to the murder after her blood was found in his car, and claimed he had discovered she had been unfaithful to him.

She was last seen on video wearing a white and blue dress getting into a blue Toyota car.

It was the last time she was seen alive and she was reported missing by a fellow traveler.

Her relatives in Russia allegedly received messages from her saying that she had decided to disappear and not contact her.

A report said the suspect “went to take the Russian woman sightseeing around the island, but in a fit of jealousy, he pulled out a knife and brutally killed his lover before stripping her naked and burying her body.”

The deceased woman had recently posted that on her holiday in Mauritius she was “capturing happiness every day”.

She had been a torchbearer before the Sochi Winter Olympics in 2014.

She was a university professor in Chelyabinsk, in the Urals.

I was scheduled to travel to Madagascar on September 1st.
