A woman has been criticized online for writing a ridiculously detailed shopping list for her husband, complete with images of the products, to make sure he doesn’t forget anything.
In a now viral TikTok video, Melinda can be seen writing the grocery list and pasting pictures of needed items — including avocado, eggs, Chobani yogurt, and cereal.
Next to each image, she also wrote the quantity needed, the price of the item and which aisle it can be found in the store.
She then shows a second sheet with the local supermarket map mapped out and where to find the items to save time.
Although the video was made as a joke, it sparked an online debate and has been viewed more than 8.2 million times.

In a now viral TikTok video, Melinda can be seen writing the shopping list for her husband and pasting pictures of the necessary items – including avocado, eggs, Chobani yogurt and cereal.
“Keep in mind this is just a joke,” Melinda wrote, and the video was flooded with more than 10,000 comments.
Some people found the visual shopping list a ‘good idea’ to save time and also ideal for children.
“I don’t care what the comments say, this is really genius for some people. It can be easy to get distracted and forget,” one woman wrote.
“Okay, but this is a great idea to let kids help and have more independence when shopping,” said another.
“At least he wouldn’t be walking around in circles looking for stuff,” a third added
Many said it would be “nice to do” to write down the shopping list with added information and pictures.
Others suggested using the available grocery apps to avoid having to jot down a list of photos.
Some TikTok users also claimed that the bar is “so low” for men who need detailed lists to complete a simple task.
“I know it’s a joke, but after seeing all those TikToks on husband/dad you have to realize the bar is so low for them,” one person wrote.
Another added: ‘When my father goes, he buys everything we don’t need and then we don’t eat it and he says why are you wasting food and we tell him we don’t eat it? [things].’
After seeing the effort it took to put together the detailed list, many said Melinda would save herself time going to the grocery store herself.
“I know it’s a joke, but in the time you make everything you could just go by yourself,” added another.
