Woman dead and four others rushed to hospital after horror crash in Queensland’s Bundaberg region

A woman has died after a Mazda CX-8 collided with a Nissan Pathfinder on Fe Walker Street in Queensland's Bundaberg region (pictured), according to initial investigations.

A woman has died and four others were rushed to hospital following a horrific crash overnight in the Bundaberg region of Queensland.

The Forensic Accident Unit launched an investigation after two vehicles collided in Kalkie on Friday night at around 8.20pm.

A Mazda CX-8 collided with a Nissan Pathfinder on Fe Walker Street according to initial investigations.

A 57-year-old Bargara woman from the Mazda suffered critical injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 63-year-old man, a 30-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman, all occupants of Bargara’s Mazda, suffered serious injuries.

They were all rushed to hospital along with the Nissan driver, 46, of Norville, who also suffered serious injuries.

Investigations continue as police urge anyone with information to come forward.

The death marks the 245th death on Queensland roads this year, compared to 231 deaths this time last year.
