While the current train is very well protected and shielded from passengers, many remember the ride without a roof or even proper doors before it was given a modern upgrade.

The scenic railroad has gone through five upgrades since the mid-1940s, with the most recent one in 2013 giving passengers the option of taking one of three trips depending on how brave they’re feeling.

Riders can choose between the original 52-degree ride, the relaxed Laidback ride, or the adventurous 64-degree Cliffhanger option by adjusting the seats.

This one-of-a-kind railway descends down the mountain via a cliff to the bottom of Jamison Valley while showcasing stunning views of the rainforest through the glass roof.
