One voter couldn't understand why women felt the need to take these kinds of steps. She said, 'I don't know. I saw that on TikTok. I think women are afraid of rights being taken away, but I've never heard (Trump) say anything like that. I've never heard that outright. That's why I find it hard to believe

DailyMail.com asked voters in New York City what they thought of the extreme measures liberal women have said they will take to protest Donald Trump’s election victory – and there was a general consensus that it might all be going a bit far.

‘I’m walking through the park. I don’t see any war. Nobody bothers me,” says twenty-year-old student Lucy.

Liberal women have spoken out online, warning the world of their plans to protest the president-elect’s victory, including poisoning their husbands, shaving their heads and abstaining from dating or sex with men.

‘No, that’s radical. That’s strange,” said 73-year-old Jerome.

Many of those we spoke to in Washington Square Park could not see how these steps were necessary, and they were not even sure that their threats would be fulfilled.

“I think we honestly overestimate the number of women who hate Trump enough not to have sex, but who have relationships with guys who love Trump enough to stay with them and not get sex,” said Hymie, 32. .

Voters said they had seen many women talking about stocking up on contraception and adopting the 4b movement – a form of anti-male protest in which women abstain from sex, dating, childbirth or marriage.

The movement became popular on social media almost immediately after Trump’s victory was announced.

Supporters flocked after Nicholas Fuentes, a far-right livestreamer, posted: “Hey b***, we control your bodies!” and ‘Your body, my choice. Forever” when the election results turned in Trump’s favor.

However, the voters we spoke to think this is a bit extreme for American women and cannot see that it is absolutely necessary for liberals to adopt this system.

Many women, especially online, have spoken out about their rights potentially being taken away by Trump's next term. Their greatest concern stems from threats to reproductive care, especially after the overturning of Roe v. Wade

‘I think it would definitely change the dynamic between men and women and the way relationships are. But I also think it’s quite extreme, because I don’t think I would shave off all my hair and just completely run away from men,” says 18-year-old student Elisha.

Some liberals appear to have gone a step further and threatened violence against men, including poison and murder – another measure voters say is an overreaction.

‘I don’t condone murder. Don’t poison your husbands, divorce them, leave them and run away if you have to,” said 21-year-old Owen.

“I don’t understand why you punish your husband for something like this,” Lucy said.

Some voters we spoke to seemed to recognize the feelings of many women across America and the potential driving force behind the drastic measures.

Elisha added, “I feel like a lot of women are just scared and disappointed in our country right now. I think women will be terrified to exist every day.”

Grace, a 19-year-old service worker, said: ‘Whatever it means for women, just the fact that someone with so many allegations of sexual abuse and sexual harassment can be elected is really frightening and something that all shows how America looks at women.”

‘People voted for this man to come back. They chose to continually neglect women and see them as mere objects and not as people. And I think that’s an attack,” she added.
