Donald Trump Jr. caused a stir after calling his teenage daughter Kai “sexy.”
The former first son made the comments as he and Kai, 17, prepared for the Republican National Convention earlier this week.
In a clip posted to his TikTok page, Don Jr. can be seen in a makeup chair alongside his daughter.
“Kai, what do you think?” she asks as she turns the camera to show her waving. “Does putting makeup on make me look sexy like you?”
Kai gives a small smile and replies, “I think you look very beautiful.”
“Thanks Kai, I’m glad you think I look very handsome,” Don Jr. replies, before breaking into a huge smile.
“I don’t do this very often, but in HD it’s better to do it,” she adds as a makeup artist continues to finish her look.
“I’m so excited for Kai’s first speech, he picked a really big venue to perform in. He’s going to rock it. Love you, Kai.”
His daughter tells him that she loves him too while a makeup artist applies her lipstick.
But the clip, which has been viewed 7.8 million times since it was posted on Thursday, has sparked a backlash.
“We don’t actually want to call our daughters sexy. Hope this helps,” one person wrote.

TikTok viewers were left disturbed by the comments, which were viewed more than 7.8 million times.
“That sounds a little suspicious,” another added.
“I’m a Trump supporter, but I had to repeat this several times to convince myself it doesn’t sound bad, and I’m still not convinced,” one person said.
The responses also drew comparisons between Donald Trump’s comments about his daughter Ivanka.
He once said, during an appearance on The View in 2006, that he might be dating Ivanka if they weren’t related.

The TikTok was filmed before Kai’s onstage appearance at the Milwaukee event where his grandfather formally accepted the Republican nomination.
