A morbidly obese Texas woman was tried for raping her 12-year-old male relative and is also accused of stabbing a man to death while out on bail.
Brittany Ann Rouleau, 38, faces life behind bars on allegations of aggravated sexual assault of a child and prohibited sexual conduct with a family member.
The 38-year-old is also accused of murdering 57-year-old Kenneth Douglas, who suffered a single stab wound to the heart, according to preliminary autopsy reports.
Testimony began before a jury of nine men and three women on Wednesday; The prosecution, led by Chelsea Carlton, informed the jury that the trial was going to be “tough.”
According to Carlton, Rouleau and the victim, who is now a senior in high school, had a happy relationship during their early childhood.

However, after a traumatic event occurred in the family, the Rouleau home was no longer a safe place. Rouleau is accused of sexually assaulting the boy in 2018, when he was 12 years old. texomas reported.
Rouleau’s defense, led by public defender Lee Ann Marsh, presented a different version of events and claimed that the 38-year-old man was in fact the victim of the sexual assault.
Marsh said the incident took place after Rouleau and the victim got into a fight, and said the 12-year-old girl sexually assaulted Rouleau while he was unconscious after the altercation.
Carlton called the alleged victim to the stand shortly after 11 a.m. Wednesday. The 18-year-old testified that Rouleau treated her like his boyfriend and asked her to hug her when she was only 11 or 12 years old.
The alleged victim went on to recount in detail multiple instances of sexual activity between him and Rouleau, in which he testified that he had not wanted to participate and that he felt bad after the incidents occurred.
The 38-year-old, seen here in court, is also accused of murdering Kenneth Douglas, 57, who suffered a single stab wound to the heart.
Rouleau’s former neighbor was also called to the stand as a witness and revealed shocking details about the alleged abuse.
Brandy Winfrey, the former neighbor, testified that while she and Rouleau were driving to the food bank together in 2020, Rouleau became lost and was visibly agitated.
Winfrey revealed that Rouleau told her that he had had sexual relations with the victim when he was 12 years old and confessed that it had happened several times.
Although Winfrey initially did not believe Rouleau, she called Child Protective Services to report her.
During cross-examination, Marsh questioned Winfrey about her history of drug use and she revealed that when she met Rouleau she was on probation for drug possession.
Winfrey was sure Rouleau was ‘high’ when she told her about the sexual abuse of her 12-year-old relative.
Another witness called to the stand was Robert Welch, a detective with the Wichita Falls Police Department.
Rouleau and the victim, who is now a senior in high school, reportedly had a happy relationship during their early childhood, but things changed after a traumatic family event.
Welch testified about the initial forensic interview of the victim, which took place in September 2020, as well as her investigation into allegations of sexual abuse by Rouleau.
The detective testified that he was unable to collect any physical evidence because too much time had passed between the alleged abuse incident and the forensic interview.
According to Rouleau’s social media accounts, she is a ‘Countrybumpkin’ and a ‘Real Redneck Babe.’
Her Facebook account suggests she was in a relationship with Douglas before the stabbing. On March 22, 2022, Douglas updated her relationship status on the social media site to “in a relationship with Brittany Ann.”
