Despite being a billionaire, country star Garth Brooks has decided to live as if he has no money.
The 62-year-old musician reportedly has a net worth of approximately $430 million thanks to his impressive music career, lucrative Las Vegas residencies and successful record label.
But a source recently said Online radar that despite all the success he has had throughout his decades in the industry, he still enjoys a “simple life,” free of luxurious getaways, expensive restaurants or materialistic goods.
“Garth borders on obsessive when it comes to living a simple life. This is due to his humble upbringing in Oklahoma,” they explained.
“He was taught that no one is better than anyone else and is almost embarrassed by all the attention and adoration he receives.”
Despite being a billionaire, country star Garth Brooks has decided to live as if he had no money
The musician (seen with his wife, Trisha Yearwood), 62, is reported to be worth $430 million thanks to his impressive music career.
Garth grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and has spoken openly about how much his quiet childhood shaped him.
“If you were raised in Oklahoma, you were raised with everything you need. There’s a righteousness and a goodness there that you don’t find anywhere else.” He said earlier.
The youngest of six siblings, Garth’s father worked for an oil company while his mother was a budding singer and his sister, Betsy, revealed in the past who grew up ‘completely poor’.
The source added that while performing in front of tens of thousands of fans during a tour can be annoying to some people, Garth has never developed a “big ego.”
“It takes a huge ego to get up on stage and entertain 75,000 fans at a show, but when he’s not performing, he just takes a pin and pops his ego balloon,” they said.
Another source told the publication that Garth, who shares daughters Taylor, 32, August, 30, and Allie, 28, with his ex-wife, Sandy Mahl, is firmly dedicated to ensuring his children do not grow up in luxury.
In fact, they said he did not give them much of his enormous fortune and even forced them to get their own jobs when they were teenagers.
“Garth believes the best way to show his love for his daughters is to not spoil them or indulge their every whim,” the source explained.

Another source said Garth, who has three daughters with ex-wife Sandy Mahl, is fully dedicated to ensuring his daughters don’t grow up in a world of luxury. He was seen with Trisha and Allie in 2017.
‘In fact, when they were in high school, he insisted that they take modest jobs to earn spending money.’
After separating from Sandy in 1999, Garth married country singer Trisha Yearwood in 2005.
“Garth borders on obsessive when it comes to living a simple life. This goes back to his humble upbringing in Oklahoma,” the first source explained. “He was taught that no one is better than anyone else.”
And the source said Garth and his wife were in agreement on their positions on money.
“Trisha doesn’t complain at all about Garth’s frugality. They really are two peas in a pod when it comes to not flaunting their wealth,” she added.
Garth spent years trying to break into the industry and was rejected by numerous labels before a stroke of luck helped him catch the attention of Capitol Records executive Lynn Shults.
She previously told Billboard that Lynn had arrived at a cafe in Nashville to meet someone who “never showed up,” when she noticed Garth performing on stage.
“When my performance was over, Lynn was waiting for me offstage. What she said… would change my life forever,” the singer recalled.
“He said, ‘Maybe we’ve forgotten something. Come to the label tomorrow and we’ll talk.'”
His debut album came out in 1989 and instantly made him a huge star.
Since then, she has released no less than 16 more albums, nine of which have been certified diamond.
