A Nashville mother accused of drowning her seven-year-old daughter “because she wanted to be left alone” attempted a bizarre suicide attempt in prison.
Brandi Elliott, 33, has been booked into Sumner County Jail without bail as she awaits facing first-degree murder charges for allegedly drowning her daughter, Piper, in Drakes Creek in Hendersonville last month.

“I had postpartum depression and was given medication for it. I couldn’t sleep well.”
However, both her lawyer and state prosecutors said at the time that they did not want her to be mentally evaluated.
