The Prime Minister enjoyed some downtime with wife Kim McDowell at Marcoola Beach on the Sunshine Coast on Thursday morning.

The couple walked hand in hand and posed for photographs, with the Prime Minister later sharing a selfie on his social media platforms.

The post received mixed reactions: many pledged their vote to the Labor Party, while others took the opportunity to criticize the politician.

‘Family man Steven Miles deserves another chance. We’re with you Steven!’ one Queenslander commented on Instagram.

‘Thank you for taking care of us health workers! You are doing a fabulous job for everyone in Queensland. The state will continue to look better with you as our Prime Minister. You are a top-notch leader,’ said another.

‘I love walks on the beach, Steve. “You are a real leader, not like (Liberal leader David) Crisafulli who just wants to cut services,” one wrote.

Others on social media were not so happy with the morning walk, referencing polls indicating the LNP is likely to emerge victorious in Saturday’s election.

“We’re getting ready to party once you’re gone,” one said.

‘How many Australians living in tents did you see on your walk along the beach?’ said another, referring to the country’s housing problem.

“You two can retire in Noosa,” one commented.

“You imposed our State, caused people to die alone, caused businesses to close and families to stop talking… Only fools would vote for that tyranny again,” one comment read.

Miles will go head to head with Crisafulli on Saturday when Queenslanders go to the polls. More than 900,000 voters have already cast their votes.

The LNP remains ahead in the polls, but its lead over the Labor Party has narrowed in recent days.

Miles became premier of the Sunshine State when Annastacia Palaszczuk resigned in December last year.

Crisafulli has been leader of the LNP since November 2020.

Crisafulli’s campaign has been dogged by questions about his views on abortion after he voted against decriminalization in 2018.
