"Some Ordinary Bowling", Says Harsha Bhogle As Hardik Pandya-led MI Concede 148 In 10 Overs vs SRH | Cricket News

The start of their IPL 2024 match against SunRisers Hyderabd was nothing short of a horror show for the Hardik Pandya-led Mumbai Indians. The SRH batters took the MI bowlers to the cleaners as they scored 148/2 in 10 overs. Travis Head hit a half-century off 18 balls while Abhishek Sharma hit a half-century off fifty balls. No other SRH batsman scored a fifty in IPL in less than twenty balls before this match. Against MI, SRH scored 81 – the highest in their IPL history.

Renowned cricket commentator Harsha Bhogle aptly summed up the situation.

“Wow, incredible strokes and now an ordinary bowling as a result of the boundary barrage. I don’t think anyone saw this coming. #MI is being dismantled and there is only one Bumrah,” Harsha Bhogle posted on X.

“Any boundary from Head, and there have been many, will bring home once again the importance of taking catches. He is a player! You can only bat like Head is if you are completely fearless.”

Earlier, Hardik Pandya-led Mumbai Indians (MI) won the toss and decided to bowl first against Pat Cummins’ Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Wednesday.

Both Hyderabad and Mumbai come into this match having lost their previous encounters. SRH conceded a four-run defeat to the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). On the other hand, Mumbai suffered a six-run defeat to the Gujarat Titans (GT) in their first match of the tournament.

During the toss, Hardik confirmed that Luke Wood would miss the match against Hyderabad.

“We’ll go bowling first. It looks like a good course, we were solid in the last game. We didn’t plan it well, that cost us the match. Thirteen games to go, we have to keep doing the right things. We are I “I’m positive and looking forward to the challenge. I’m just trying to spend time with all the players. Getting to know them better. One change: Luke is missing,” Pandya said.

On the other hand, Cummins said that Jaydev Unadkat will replace T Natarajan. He added that Travis Head will start for Hyderabad ahead of Marco Jansen.

“Looks like a good wicket. Not too upset. It’s a tough tournament, the crowd and conditions will help. A few changes. Head comes in for Jansen. Natarajan has a niggle, Unadkat comes in. We have a great squad “The players playing tonight have to give it their all,” Cummins said.
