A man has been arrested after a woman was found dead inside a car on a busy south Sydney street.
Emergency services were called to Durham Street in Hurstville, about 16 kilometers south of Sydney’s CBD at 5.15pm on Tuesday following reports of concern for welfare.
The woman, believed to be in her 40s, was found dead in the front passenger seat.
Police are treating his death as suspicious and have established a crime scene.
On Wednesday afternoon, police revealed that Johnny Di Marcello, 48, was arrested shortly after the incident at his home.
“He was taken to St George Police Station and charged with contravening the prohibition/restriction on an AVO (domestic) means of transport without the consent of the owner, driving while disqualified, second offense and breaching bail,” St George Police said. New South Wales.
He was refused bail and will next appear at Sutherland Local Court on November 19.
Anyone with information is urged to contact police as investigations continue.
