Two women who died in a fatal head-on collision have been identified as Indonesian nationals who had only been living in Australia for a couple of years.
Rosanti and Fina died when the Honda Accord they were traveling in collided with a Jeep Cherokee on Indian Ocean Drive in Neergabby, north of Perth, at 5pm on Saturday.
The women, ages 23 and 31, suffered critical injuries and died at the scene.
All five occupants of the Jeep survived with varying levels of non-life-threatening injuries and were treated by St John WA paramedics.
Rosanti’s roommate shared her anguish on social media following the tragic accident.
“Rosanti and I lived together in a shared house in Lancelin with two other friends, and also worked on a carrot farm in West Hills with Fina,” he wrote.
Since then, Fina and Rosanti’s friend Rizki Thanan has released a GoFundMe for the couple to raise funds to send their remains to their families in Indonesia.
“I am raising funds to ask my friends to help with the costs of repatriating the body to Indonesia,” he wrote.
