Robert Irwin has earned the ire of vegetarians and vegans after appearing in a Twisties campaign.
The wildlife warrior, 20, stars in a new advert asking snack fans to vote for their favorite Twisties flavour: chicken or cheese.
In the clip, Robert advocates the flavor of chicken, while singer G Flip, 30, opts for cheese.
‘To all my chookstituants! I say chicken is the people’s Twistie!’ Robert says from a podium.
‘Cheese has carried chicken on its delicious shoulders for too long! No more lies,” adds G Flip.

The campaign sparked backlash from vegans and vegetarians after it was shared on Robert’s Instagram page.
Chicken Twisties are neither vegan nor vegetarian, as the Australian snack lists at least three ingredients that are derived from animals, including chicken fat and whey powder (milk).
“To be honest, it’s kind of weird to be able to make this kind of announcement,” one user wrote.
‘Why are you pushing for chicken if you’re an animal lover? “No animal has to die for cheese,” commented another.
‘How are you going to say you’re a conservationist and then promote a product made with chicken fat and milk? Make it make sense bro,’ a third wrote.
“Honestly I’m surprised you’re not vegan, or at least vegetarian @robertirwinphotography, someone who loves and cares about animals like you should also care about animals in the meat industry,” another commented.
Meanwhile, many fans jumped to the zookeeper’s defense.
‘So because you’re an animal activist you have to be 100% vegan 100% of the time?’ one fan began.
“Their father loved a good roast lamb and eating meat sustains their bodies for the strenuous exercise and work they do all day long to keep the Australian Zoo up to par,” they continued.

‘I am a zookeeper and animal lover. I also love steak,” another revealed.
‘I would venture to guess that looking at nature every day means it has a very different concept of how the food chain works than you do. “When you watch a predator eat its prey every day, you probably see it as part of nature,” wrote a third.
“As far as I’m concerned, the Irwins are the royal family of Australia,” said one.
‘His literal job is wildlife conservation, just like his father. And this is a commercial guy, relax. Robert isn’t allowed to do ANYTHING else unless it’s strictly conservation? another user added.
