After the Eagles started last season with a 10-1 record, it looked like they would make it back to the Super Bowl. But everything fell apart and Philadelphia didn’t even win a playoff game.
The team’s head coach, Nick Sirianni, and star quarterback, Jalen Hurts, were not on the same page and must find a better way to move forward together in year four.

It’s clear that Philadelphia is making progress with both Hurts and Sirianni, so things will have to improve.
Jalen Hurts and Nick Sirianni weren’t on the same page last season and they’re still not perfect
The duo reportedly had a “disconnect” during the Eagles’ collapse at the end of last season.
Sirianni became the Eagles’ head coach prior to the 2021 season, while Hurts was drafted by the team in 2020.
Last April, Hurts received a five-year contract extension worth $255 million, with $180 million guaranteed.
“We’ve seen Jalen Hurts on the sideline with Nick Sirianni, and they weren’t attacking each other. But there’s definitely a personality difference,” The Athletic’s Dianna Russini said.
“The way I would describe it is that the relationship is still in progress. There was some disconnect between them last year, because of their personalities,” Russini continued. “Nick, as we’ve seen, is a very emotional guy. Jalen is a very private guy.”
“They’re all different human beings, which is fine. They don’t all have to be the same, but they do have to be on the same page when it comes to what they want to do on offense,” Russini concluded.
The hangover from last year’s late-season collapse will be on everyone’s mind until Hurts, Sirianni and the rest of the Eagles can prove that crushing losses are a thing of the past.
