Two car enthusiasts who died when their Toyota Corolla crashed into a tree and burst into flames have been identified.

Mathew Wong, 23, and Kasia Kulary, 26, died in the crash at Burnt Bridge Creek Deviation at Balgowlah on Sydney’s Northern Beaches at about 10.45pm on Wednesday.

Police believe Mr Wong was driving the black car.

The couple were coming from a motoring meet-up in Mosman with the Car Culture Australia group, of which they were enthusiastic members. 9News reported.

Ms. Kulary’s Facebook cover photo shows her posing with a Lexus.

“Kasia was and remains the light of our lives. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends,” her family said.

Police are investigating the accident and whether the car was speeding.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.

Kasia Kulary, 26, died after the car she was travelling in crashed into a tree and burst into flames.
