While Patrick Mahomes’ wife Brittany has caused quite the stir in recent days with her possible political leanings, the Kansas City Chiefs star has been more careful to keep his own beliefs out of the headlines.
Brittany, 28, faced backlash last week after her eagle-eyed fans spotted she had liked one of Donald Trump’s social media posts in an apparent endorsement of his 2024 election campaign.
The pregnant mother of two hit back harshly at her critics, something many feared could put her at odds with friend and staunch liberal Taylor Swift, who has previously criticized Trump.
“I mean honestly to be a hater as an adult you must have some deep-seated issues that you refuse to heal from childhood,” Brittany wrote on her Instagram Story, pointedly refusing to clarify her political stance.
Meanwhile, according to CBS, Patrick’s Chiefs teammate and Swift’s boyfriend Travis Kelce reportedly reached out to Kamala Harris’ campaign to attend the DNC last week after she replaced President Joe Biden as the party’s nominee.
Ultimately, Kelce was in attendance at Kansas City’s preseason game against the Chicago Bears on Thursday night, when Harris addressed the convention.

Patrick himself has remained relatively quiet on political issues in recent weeks as the race for the White House heats up.
The quarterback has addressed social and political issues in the past, but has avoided revealing who has his vote.
The 28-year-old has joined LeBron James’ ‘More Than a Vote’ campaign to help increase African-American voter turnout in the 2020 election between Biden and Trump.
However, at the time, the three-time Super Bowl winner did not publicly endorse any candidate.
This year, Mahomes appears to be maintaining the same stance as Trump and Harris compete for the Oval Office.
“I don’t want to pressure anyone to vote for a certain president,” Mahomes said in an interview with TIME Magazine published last week. ‘I want people to use their voice, whoever they believe. I want them to do their research.’
In addition to joining James’ “More Than a Vote” project in 2020, Mahomes, along with the Chiefs, pledged to start a voter registration and turnout project in Kansas City.

Mahomes, along with former Chiefs teammate Tyrann Mathieu, Jackson County and Mahomes’ 15 and the Mahomies Foundation, provided the funding necessary to make Arrowhead Stadium an official polling location for the 2020 election.
Most of Jackson County, where Kansas City is located, voted Democratic in 2020, with nearly 60 percent voting for Biden over Trump.
The county has voted Democratic in the last 12 presidential elections, but Missouri is a predominantly Republican state.
The Chiefs have been invited to the White House by President Biden for the past two years to commemorate their Super Bowl victories in 2023 and 2024.
Mahomes and his teammates had been invited to the White House by Trump after Super Bowl LIV but did not attend due to the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic.
