Jesse Ramien’s frantic efforts to bring his six-week premature baby back to Australia from a Bali hospital have been helped by a host of NRL stars.

Teo Ramien was born on October 11, and Cronulla Sharks center and his wife Shell are desperate to arrange a flight home for their medically induced newborn.

The cost is close to $130,000 and almost $57,000 has been raised so far.

As things stand, the Sharks and the NRL are working closely with the Australian Embassy in Indonesia to seal the necessary paperwork that would allow Teo to fly to Australian shores.

After his birth, Teo needed to be resuscitated for five minutes.

Many NRL players, from rival clubs, were quick to donate to the cause, including players such as AJ Brimson, Keaon Koloamatangi, Sitili Tupouniua, Jacob Saifiti, Taane Milne and Hame Sele.

Sharks players who helped were Nicho Hynes, Siosifa Talakai, Briton Nikora, Jack Williams, Braden Hamlin-Uele, Blayke Brailey and Billy Burns.

The comment sparked an online debate, with @LeagueScenePod responding: “This is not all,” referring to the commenter’s opinion.

‘Oh, if you want, go give Jesse and his family your hard-earned money by all means… I’m just saying it’s a little rich to reach out when you’re a professional athlete… I’d say the same. if it were a player from the club I supported,’ responded @EAGLER0CK.

“There are things you just can’t plan for,” @LeagueScenePod responded. “I doubt a cost-of-living crisis would count as an emergency of this gratitude.”

‘Wish them the best. Horrible circumstances. I really hope they can fix it as soon as possible,” said another.

But this doesn’t interpret the room very well. Most fans can’t imagine what he gets paid. Where is your club? Where are his colleagues who earn as much or more than him? In my opinion, it is in very bad taste.

Ramien declared that he will “play for nothing” if it ensures his baby arrives home safely.

his wife Shell was 33 weeks pregnant and before leaving Sydney the couple got clearance from their obstetrician.

This was in addition to airline clearance and travel insurance coverage for her pregnancy.
