Actor Michael Madsen has filed for divorce from his ex-wife DeAnna, alleging that he has been a victim of her abuse for years.
The Reservoir Dogs star, 65, married DeAnna, 64, in 1996 and they share three sons: Kalvin, 27, Luke, 18, and Hudson, who committed suicide at just 26 in January 2022 while stationed in Hawaii for the US Army.
Madsen filed for divorce on Wednesday, citing irreconcilable differences and adding that he has actually been separated since January 2022.
She said in the petition that she believes DeAnna’s “negligence, drinking and alcoholism” contributed to Hudson taking her own life.
The Kill Bill star also alleged that he has been in an “abusive, codependent and toxic relationship” with DeAnna, which culminated in his arrest for domestic violence last month.

Madsen is also seeking a domestic violence restraining order against his ex-wife in the petition.
The actor was arrested at his home in Malibu, California, after he allegedly “pushed” his wife and locked her out of their house.
He was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of domestic violence, but was released on $20,000 bail.
His lawyer, Perry Wander, insisted his client was “not guilty of domestic violence.”
She also accused DeAnna of ‘breaking into’ Madsen’s home on Sunday, when the alleged incident occurred.
“He confronted her and asked her to leave,” Wander said, claiming this “has been an ongoing problem.”
“Michael has shown immense compassion and restraint during this period towards his ex-wife. He is definitely not guilty of domestic violence,” Wander concluded.
In response, DeAnna issued her own statement, claiming that her ex-husband is “struggling with personal issues.”

Just weeks later, the case against Madsen was dismissed by the Los Angeles district attorney due to “insufficient evidence.”
“We are thrilled that Michael Madsen can put this behind him and look forward to more great collaborations with this respected veteran actor,” his rep said in a statement.
Madsen is best known for his collaborations with Quentin Tarantino such as Reservoir Dogs and Kill Bill.
