Harry and Meghan received a rock star welcome upon arrival in Nigeria as excited crowds clamored to take selfies as the military rolled out the red carpet.

Apart from the school visit during which they danced with the students, other parts of the tour were more formal, including meeting with officials at the Nigerian Defense Headquarters.

Royal expert Phil Dampier said of the couple’s visit: “The trip to Nigeria has been described as private, but it was at the invitation of the country’s Defense Minister and has the air of a kind of quasi-royal tour.”
