Mama June Shannon has revealed she will be working with a company to help provide affordable weight loss drugs to the masses, after starting her own journey with miracle diabetes drugs.

After previously insisting she had no interest in using weight-loss injections, the reality star, 44, changed her mind on her decision in April when she began taking a form of semaglutide, similar to the popular ‘quick fix’ ‘ Ozempic.

Now, the Mama June: Family Crisis star is preparing to launch a service to help fans get access to innovative, affordable medications loved by stars like Sharon Osborne and Oprah Winfrey.

Speaking exclusively to DailyMail.com, he said: ‘The medication is really expensive, but I found a company that I’m starting to work with and very soon people who take weight loss medications will have a more affordable way to get their medications.

I personally paid $500 a month for my medications. Now I only pay $199, and that includes the doctor’s visit and the medication, and you can have it delivered right to your door.’

The reality star had lost 355 pounds after undergoing gastric sleeve surgery nine years ago.

However, she claimed to have gained more than 100 pounds from the stress of caring for her daughter Anna Cardwell, who died last year after being diagnosed with stage four adrenal cancer.

The ordeal prompted the TV matriarch to try appetite suppressant medications, despite her previous claims that she would avoid them due to her past struggles with addiction.

“I’ll be honest, a year ago I was that person who said I would never do Ozempic,” said the mother of four. ‘Even three months ago, because I had the medicine in my refrigerator for a month and a half.

“But I went to see a personal doctor and had several tests done to make sure I was going to be able to use it.”

She continued: ‘I started semaglutide, which is like Ozempic. I’m now taking tirzepatide.’

Ozempic and Wegovy are brand names of the drug semaglutide, which suppresses appetite and causes weight loss.

Tirzepatide, sold under the brand names Mounjaro and Zepbound, is an antidiabetic medication used for the treatment of weight loss and type 2 diabetes.

Talking about the results she’s seen so far, Mama June boasted: ‘I’m almost nine weeks in and I’ve lost 30 pounds. I’m also in the gym all the time and I’m very strict with my diet.’

Regarding her fears about the side effects that some users have experienced, she admitted: ‘I was the girl who was worried about the side effects; diarrhea, vomiting and everything that entails.

‘Or just get sick and be in the hospital… but I promise you I haven’t had anything.’

The star explained that she wanted to be as honest as possible about her weight loss journey, compared to other famous names who have been accused of secretly using weight loss medications.

‘There are famous people who don’t say anything. But I want to share my experience, I want to share my struggles,” Mama June insisted.

The star made it clear that she has her fans in mind, continuing, “I think people need to bring more awareness to this.” So I use my platform to raise awareness about this and also to bring it to the people who spend so much.

“They can’t really afford it, but they want to take weight loss medications, so I want to be able to offer them an affordable way to be able to get their medications and not have to worry about it.”

She continued: ‘Because if you completely stop the medication, yes, I heard there are negative side effects. You have to lower yourself again… and I want people to be able to do it in a healthier way.

‘So I’ve worked with a company that does it in a healthier way. Instead of going to a medical spa every week, the company I work with sticks with the same dosage for a month and that’s it.

Mama June admitted that she would make a profit working with the company, but insisted that the main goal is to help others gain access.

He then joked, “I’m going to post that real soon because if I get a deal, I’ll give all of you a deal.”

It comes after she told DailyMail.com last year that she was not interested in trying weight loss injections.

“I don’t want to try Ozempic because, honestly, I’ve heard about a lot of negative side effects,” he said at the time.

“It’s using a drug that’s not actually prescribed to do that.” They are using a diabetes medication to take care of their weight loss.

The drugs, which have been used by the likes of Elon Musk, Chelsea Handler and Remi Bader, are approved to manage type II diabetes but are prescribed off-label for obesity.

They have active ingredients that mimic the actions of hormones in the brain that govern appetite and feelings of fullness, which can help people reduce the number of calories they consume.

In 2022, more than five million prescriptions were issued for Ozempic, Mounjaro, Rybelsus (another Novo drug that uses semaglutide) or Wegovy for weight control.

Mama June explained that using the drug for anything other than approved treatment made her uncomfortable as a recovering drug addict.

He continued: “No offense to the people who are doing it, but it’s not for me.” I want to stay clean. I’m not judging anyone but it’s not for me.’
