A 24-year-old freelance makeup artist has shared her body transformation and revealed how she managed to lose 40 pounds in just six months.
In July 2019, Selin Cicek, of Melbourne, gave a 98-pound scale, but said she “ didn’t care ” that she was overweight and constantly eating unhealthy foods and making excuses to avoid training.
“I never trained, I ate what I wanted and it really demanded my body; I was so heavy in my early twenties, ‘Selin told FEMAIL, adding that she was originally size 16.
But it wasn’t until a life-changing vacation to Turkey that Selin realized she needed to make a change “before it was too late.”

When she traveled abroad, Selin said she “never felt so uncomfortable” in her own skin and compared herself to other girls with slimmer figures.
“I was so insecure about my body – all the other girls were so fit and I stood out as the overweight girl,” said Selin.
“I also couldn’t buy clothes because there was such a thing as plus size.”
The locals would say to me ‘you are so young, why are you overweight? “and this got me thinking about how I was hurting my health,” she said.

Not only did Selin completely change her entire diet and eating habits, but she went to a gym and started exercising six days a week

After returning home to Australia, Selin said she was overly ‘ashamed, shocked and angry’ at herself.
Selin took steps to reduce weight and not only changed her entire diet and eating habits, but she went to a gym and started exercising six days a week.
She cut out bad sugars, artificial juices, soft drinks, and takeaways from her diet, and used intermittent fasting as a weight loss aid by eating only between noon and 8 p.m.
“I had no surgery [and] don’t take weight loss pills – I quit dairy and followed a high-protein, low-carb diet, ‘she said.

In March 2020, after six months of hard work and dedication, Selin weighed 58 kilograms and fitted in size eight clothing.

WHAT IS SELIN’S HEALTHY ‘DAY ON A PLATE’ WITH INTERMITTENT FASTING?
9-10 hours – two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar, mixed with warm lemon water in the morning to detoxify and aid weight loss.
12 o’clock – protein shake with a scoop of protein, half a banana, 1.5 scoop of natural oats, a touch of organic honey and cinnamon
14.00 hours – after a workout I like to eat any kind of salad for lunch, like a chicken quinoa salad with avocado and feta
5:00 PM – pre-dinner snack, such as carrot and cucumber slices with natural crackers and hummus
19:00 – vegetarian dinner meals in the evening with lots of vegetables, vegetables, lentils, mushrooms and spinach or salmon with asparagus
8 pm – a small portion of fruit with natural Chobani yogurt and finish the day with a green tea
Selin said her transformation process for her body was the “mentally, physically and emotionally challenging” she has ever done, but she is proud of how much weight she lost and what she achieved.
“You have to train your body to adapt to a new lifestyle,” she said.
“You get hungry and want sugar, but you have to push your body to overcome it and think about how powerful and amazing you will be on your journey.”

When asked what advice she would give to others, Selin said that while losing weight is challenging and difficult, it is worthwhile and better for your health.
“It will be difficult, it will take time, dedication, sacrifice and willpower,” she said, adding, “You will have to push your body like you’ve never pushed it before – but at the end when you reach your goal, I promise, it will all be worth it. ‘
Selin shared her story on social media with the hope of inspiring others, posted one TikTok June 24 video that has since gone viral and has been viewed more than 834,000 times.
