Marcus Rashford will reportedly meet new Manchester United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his leadership group for “crucial talks” over his future at Old Trafford.
Reports this week claimed the Red Devils were set for a total overhaul of their first team. The Telegraph had claimed the club were open-minded about which players could leave this summer, and Mail Sport also revealed that selling Rasford was an option.
The England striker has largely failed to live up to his 30 goals from last season, finding the back of the net just eight times in all competitions this season. Rashford has also struggled off the field after he was spotted at a Belfast nightclub in January and subsequently missed training.
Paris Saint-Germain, who have previously held talks with Rashford’s agents, are one club that have been linked with a move for the United academy graduate, who could reportedly benefit from his contract at Old Trafford, which expires in 2028, for around £. 80 million.
But according to Sun, it seems that the new co-owners of Man United are interested in keeping the English star at the club. The outlet suggests that while Rashford has seemed down of late, “Ratcliffe hasn’t given up on him” and intends to understand why Rashford has struggled recently.

Reports suggest that Sir Dave Brailsford will lead talks between the club and the striker.
The report also claims that Sir Dave Brailsford can lead talks between Rashford, his representatives and the club, and INEOS hopes the discussions can repair any rift that may have developed between Rashford and his manager Erik Ten Hag.
The Sun also claimed that Rashford “will oppose any attempt to sell him this summer”.
The Dutchman had opted not to select Rashford for their FA Cup clash against Newport County in January after he was photographed in a nightclub in Belfast, with the Red Devils dealing with the matter internally.
After the incident, Ten Hag warned Rashford and his players that they must “learn to behave” and urged professionalism among his team.
Despite that, the Dutch boss has continued to back his £315-a-week star after Rashford recently spoke out against the abuse he had received online.
The striker responded last week to a social media post which claimed the online abuse he had received from fan accounts was “cruel”.
Rashford said: ‘I appreciate your support! He is abused and has been [like this] for months. Enough is enough.’
Ten Hag, meanwhile, stood by his striker and said: “Of course, I have a lot of sympathy for Rashy.”
“Last year he had a brilliant season, the best season of his career, scoring 30 goals, so you see what he is capable of.
Erik ten Hag recently denied reports that United were “open” to selling several key players.
He and Rashford have had an up-and-down relationship this season, but the manager recently put his faith in the striker after the England star said he had been subjected to online abuse.
Rashford thanked fans online for their support before claiming he had “had enough”.
Speculation has increased this week that the club is willing to cash in on its entire squad, with the exception of three players.
‘This season has not given the performances and people are very critical. I think we have to support it.
“Everyone should get behind him and push him to get back to the levels he had last year.”
Ten Hag has since branded reports that United could undergo a major overhaul of their squad as “totally bullshit”.
“Since I’ve worked here, every summer, every window, I think 200 players are attracting interest from Manchester United. We did a little research. “False,” he said of the reports, calling them a “joke.”
“And also every summer we sell all the players in our squad, so you (in the media) are in all the headlines, which is not true.”
Rashford will reportedly oppose any attempt by Man United to sell him this summer.
“I think you have to be calm and also take some responsibility when a headline like that appears. Think, find a good source if there is some truth to it and this is totally bullshit.”
Meanwhile, Rashford is unlikely to return to Premier League action against Crystal Palace on Monday after he was taken off during Man United’s FA Cup semi-final against Coventry with an injury.
“I can’t say (when he’ll be back),” Ten Hag said. “So it was the absence last week against Sheffield, after Coventry, so far his problem hasn’t healed.”
