She said People Kim ‘sent me some SKIMS two or three years ago and said she was going to put me in an ad. And then I think, Kim, I’m waiting. I’m ready.’

Kim, 43, launched SKIMS in 2019 and has since recruited an incredible array of celebrity spokespeople to help her propel the company forward.

Stars who have promoted SKIMS including Kate Moss, Cardi B, Lana Del Rey, Usher, Brooke Shields, Kim Cattrall, Ice Spice, Patrick Mahomes and Snoop Dogg.

Most recently, Kim appeared in a supporting role in the final season of American Horror Story, a show Kathy has acted on several times in past seasons.

Kim has been widely ridiculed online for her portrayal of publicist Siobhan Corbyn in the new season of the anthology series Delicate.

However, Kathy said she heard that Kim is “doing a great job” on the show, although she hasn’t “had a chance to watch it” as she’s been “learning lines” for her new series.

Over the past few months, Kathy has been busy working on a gender-swapped reboot of the classic ’80s legal series Matlock for CBS.

The original show was a mystery drama starring Andy Griffith as a grumpy and formidably effective defense attorney named Ben Matlock.

Now Kathy, 75, stars in a new spin-off as Madeline ‘Matty’ Matlock, and this time the story has been given a distinctly comedic flavour.

Matty is a woman in her 70s who returns to work as a lawyer and is initially despised by younger colleagues at her firm.

However, she soon reveals that she is able to use her harmless appearance and sweet old lady act to devastating effect to fool her professional adversaries.

Beau Bridges plays the head of Matty’s law firm, with Jason Ritter and Skye P. Marshall as his character’s son and daughter-in-law, respectively.

The Matlock reboot was first announced in January of last year, and in May it emerged that the pilot had been picked up for one season.

However, a problem occurred when Hollywood strikes shook the industry and forced many productions to the back burner.

Kathy’s new series managed to survive the ordeal and is now filming ahead of its release sometime during the 2024-2025 television season on CBS.

The original Matlock aired from 1986 to 1995, first on NBC and then ABC, and in the process acquired a devoted audience.

Andy Griffith led the series amid a cast that at various stages included Linda Purl, Julie Sommars, Nancy Stafford and Carol Huston.

Meanwhile, during her years in the original Matlock, Kathy was building a career as a formidably respected character actress on Broadway and Hollywood.

In 1990, Kathy appeared in her Oscar-winning role in Misery, playing the psychotically obsessed fan of a romance novelist played by James Caan.

He followed that coup with another acclaimed performance in the 1991 drama Fried Green Tomatoes, also during Matlock’s run.
