Australia’s biggest lottery winner has been found and an Adelaide man contacted lottery officials this morning.
He’s now $150 million richer and surprisingly, he went to work this morning.
‘I know it may seem crazy, but I’m going to keep working. I’m at work today.’
The middle-aged bloke from Adelaide had the only division one winning entry in Powerball draw 1462, drawn on Thursday night.
The man said he is in a state of shock.
‘Wow! I’m still pinching myself!’
‘I can not believe it. I’m the mystery winner! Am I Australia’s biggest lottery winner?
The lucky winner said he looked at the clock last night and saw that it was getting late and thought the drawing should have been done by then.

‘So, I checked the first one and found nothing, then I scanned the second one and it said 150 million dollars!
‘I have never screamed so loud or jumped so high!
‘This was last night and I still haven’t slept. I kept checking the ticket!
‘I normally play Powerball, so yesterday was an especially lucky day! I bought my ticket while I was filling up the car the other day and I bought my ticket there randomly. I can’t believe I got the winning ticket!
The man already has plans for what to do with his new fortune.
“I’m buying a house, I want to travel the world and I have family and friends I want to help, but for now I can’t understand how big this prize is.”
‘This changes life. I can’t stop smiling and pinching myself.

In addition to the $150 million division one winner, there were 4,433,211 winners in divisions two through nine in last night’s Powerball drawing.
Together they took home more than $89.3 million. This included nine division two winners, who took home $276,036.95 each.
The winning numbers in Powerball drawing 1462 on Thursday, May 23, 2024 were 18, 29, 34, 8, 4, 28 and 6. The most important Powerball number was 11.
The Lott’s division one winner count has reached 368 so far in fiscal 2024, including 26 won by SA Lotteries customers.
In 2023, 20 Powerball division one winning entries across Australia pocketed more than $552.15 million in prizes.
During this time, a Bankstown dad hit a $100 million jackpot and became the second biggest Australian lottery winner of all time.
Of the 20 Powerball division one winning entries in 2023, eight landed in New South Wales, seven in Victoria, two each in South Australia and Western Australia, and one in Queensland.
