Nearly 3,000 Jeep Grand Cherokees have been recalled over fears that the vehicles’ wheels might fall off while driving.
Fiat-Chrysler Australia on Monday issued the recall notice for Grand Cherokee and Grand Cherokee L models manufactured between 2021 and 2023.
He said suspension failures could cause the SUV’s wheels to fall off.
“The upper control arm retaining bolts may have been damaged during vehicle assembly,” the FCA said.
“This can cause the wheels to come off the vehicle while driving, causing a loss of control.
“Loss of vehicle control increases the risk of an accident causing serious injury or death to the driver and/or vehicle occupants or other road users.”
Nearly 3,000 Jeep Grand Cherokees manufactured between 2021 and 2023 have been recalled due to an alarming warning that the vehicles’ wheels could fall off.
A total of 2,854 vehicles are affected by the recall, including two- and three-row models.
A list of recalled vehicle identification numbers is available at the FCA website.
Owners of these Jeeps are advised to contact their nearest authorized dealer as soon as possible for free repairs.
