Amid the Shannon Sharpe sex scandal, Jason Whitlock suggested that the First Take host aired that controversial Instagram Live stream to attract viewers.
On Wednesday, social media exploded when Sharpe’s Instagram account went live as the NFL Hall of Famer could be heard having sex with a woman he called “Michelle.”
While Sharpe addressed the situation at Nightcap that night and admitted his mistakes, Whitlock suggested that Sharpe planned the “accident” to get more views.
“He’s a master at baiting.” Whitlock said‘Late at night, he appears on Nightcap and confesses and attracts 185, 190, 200 thousand viewers live on YouTube: it’s a huge number.
‘And people have been thinking, ‘Was this leaked intentionally to gain publicity? Was this leaked intentionally to combat rumors that Shannon Sharpe is gay? Those rumors have been circulating for quite some time.’
Jason Whitlock suggested Shannon Sharpe intentionally transmitted herself having sex
Sharpe went live on his Instagram while having an intimate moment with a woman.
During the highly-watched episode of Nightcap, Sharpe said he threw his phone onto the bed and had no idea it had started a live stream from the ceiling while Sharpe and the woman were having sexual activity.
While Sharpe highlighted his difficulties with the technology, co-host Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson pointed out how starting a live stream requires several steps and would rarely happen by accident.
Later, on Nightcap, Sharpe noted how his team took the initiative to report that their boss’s account had been hacked. That slide was later removed when Sharpe acknowledged the incident.
As for the rumours about his sexuality, Sharpe revealed that he received a call from comedian Kat Williams, who joked that he was with ‘Michelle’ and not ‘Michael’.
Sharpe addressed the situation and acknowledged his mistake at Nightcap on Wednesday night.
After noting how comics generated a lot of material from the rumors surrounding Sharpe, Whitlock went further to suggest that Sharpe fed industry standards by joining the “sex cult.”
“I want to take this issue more seriously and connect it to everything I’ve been saying on this show,” Whitlock said. “The entertainment industry, the music industry, the television industry, the film industry — they’ve all been manipulated in a way that promotes sexual promiscuity, homosexuality, transgenderism, just sexual fluidity.”
“If you want to be part of the club, you have to join the sex cult that drives it and awards multimillion-dollar contracts.”
