One guy took shopping with your friends to a whole new level after bringing his pet galah in a specially constructed backpack bird cage.

The post sparked a wave of comments from people who were delighted, if perhaps a little confused, by the unusual sight.

“Just a galah at Bunnings. I hope he enjoyed a snag after his look around, ‘said one person, referring to the store’s famous sausage.

‘Just a guy going for a walk with his cockatoo, nothing to see here. Please move, ”added another.

While anyone who’s been to Bunnings over a weekend will tell you that dogs and puppies are very common, birds are a novelty.

As per hardware store policy, any pet is welcome within reasonable limits as long as they are safely secured.

The galah, a type of pink and gray cockatoo, is found all over Australia.

They are excellent mimics of voices that, along with their bright color and outgoing playful personalities, make them excellent family pets.
