How to watch the 2024 Summer Olympics

If you just want to watch highlights or aren’t interested in streaming specific events, there will be plenty of coverage available for free on NBCOlympics.com.

If you live in the UK and prefer to stream live or on-demand selected events that are not available on the BBC player, your best option is Discovery+which will be showing all the events of the Games. This summer it is offering a special deal that allows you to access the games for £4 a month. There are also additional discounts if you already pay for Sky TV.

Note: Unless otherwise specified, all times below are in US East Coast Time.

Opening ceremony

The four-hour opening ceremony will be broadcast by almost all Olympic media outlets. Live on July 26thThe ceremony begins at 8:00 p.m. Paris time, which is 2:00 p.m. Eastern time and 11:00 a.m. Pacific time. Most broadcasts will begin 30 minutes before the ceremony begins.

3×3 Basketball

The three-on-three basketball variant begins July 30th with men’s and women’s rounds. Medal matches are played in August 5.

Archery

The archery qualification rounds begin on July 25thMedal matches are underway 28 of July For women and July 29th For men.

Badminton

Badminton begins with doubles and singles matches. July 26The finals are spread over several days, from August 2nd to August 5.

Basketball

There is a lot of basketball to watch this year. The games start on July 27thThe United States men’s team plays its first game on 28 of July At 11:15 a.m., and the American women play in July 29th The gold medal matches will be played at 3 pm. August 10th For men and August 11 For the women.

Boat stuff

  • Rowing: Men’s and women’s single, double and quadruple sculls qualifying rounds begin July 27thThe medal matches are shared between July 29th and August 2nd.
  • Navigation: The events begin on 28 of JulyThe finals of all categories (windsurfing, single-person dinghy, two-seater dinghy, skiff and mixed multihull) are shared between August 1 and August 8th.
  • Canoe or kayak slalom: Begin July 27th with men’s and women’s eliminatory heats. The finals in all slalom events are contested between 28 of July and August 5.
  • Canoe/Kayak Sprint: Begin 6th Augustwith endings in August 8th, 9and 10.

Rip

New this year! Very exciting. B-Girls compete in August 9and the B-Boys go all out August 10th. Here is the Full agenda.

Cycling

  • BMX freestyle: All events take place in July 30th and 31st.
  • BMX racing: All events take place in August 1st and 2nd.
  • Mountain bike racing: Women run in 28 of July and the men run July 29th.
  • Road bike racing: The men’s and women’s time trials begin July 27thThe men’s road race is underway August 3rdand women run in August 4th.
  • Clue: Track racing begins on August 5with medal races in between August 5 and August 9Check out the Madison event, it’s crazy.

Dive

The diving events are quite spread out. The events start on July 27th and reach the men’s 10-metre platform final. August 10th. Here is the Full agenda.

Golf

Men’s individual rounds begin August 1 and will conclude with the medal round in August 4thWomen’s rounds begin August 7th with the medals on August 10th.

Gym

Official gymnastics schedules are divided into specific categories, each with its own calendar. Artistic gymnastics Starts at July 27th, Rhythmic gymnastics begin August 8thand trampoline gymnastics take place entirely in August 2nd.

Hockey

Hockey in summer? Yes…field hockey. Men’s field hockey begins July 27th with the finals in August 8thWomen’s matches begin July 27th with the finals in August 9Here is the full text schedule.

Horses

There are many equestrian events, from dressage and cross country to show jumping and grand prix. It all starts July 27thHere is the Complete horse program.

Martial arts (and various fights)

  • Fencing: All the attacks, strikes and parries begin. July 27th. Complete fencing program here.

Football (also known as soccer)

Football matches start early July 24thThe gold medal games are August 9 For men and August 10th For women, the full football calendar is here.

Skateboard

Skateboarding is enjoying its second Olympics as an official sport, which is pretty cool. Street events are July 27th and 28and the park events are 6th August and 7.

Climbing

The new wall climbing sensation makes his Olympic debut in Paris. All events take place between August 5 and 10. Here is the Full agenda for the various matches. Don’t forget to read our interview with American climber Jesse Grupper about the team he will take to Paris.

Surf

Are there waves in Paris? Not really, this year’s surfing events will be held in Teahupo’o, Tahitiwhich is a French territory. Surfing events are mostly held at odd times due to the time difference. There will be some days where the surf is terrible and if that is the case they will simply hold the heats on a different day. Check out schedulebut you should know that it will probably change.

Swim

There are many swimming events, each with a different distance, style and number of competitors. See the Full agenda to find the ones you want to watch. There are medal matches almost every day. And keep an eye on the Mayor of Paris.

Tennis

Tennis begins July 27thwith matches every day leading up to the medal events for singles and doubles in August 2nd, 3and 4Here it is schedule.

Oh, and would you like to watch a game of table tennis? a schedule for that too, and you’ll need it. Table tennis spans the entire Games, with matches of July 27th to August 10thThe medal matches will be held on the last two days.

Athletics

There are different athletics events that we call track and field today. These individual and team events (decathlon, high jump, hammer throw, etc.) are carried out from August 2nd through August 10thYou will need the Full agenda To stay up to date with what you want to see.

The men’s marathon is August 9and that of women is August 10th.

triathlon

Watch the great effort of swimming, cycling and running. The men compete in July 29thand women run in July 30thMixed relay is activated August 4th.

Volleyball

Indoor volleyball will be played throughout the duration of the Games, from July 27th to August 10thThe men’s and women’s medal matches will be played on the final two days. Find your favourite country In the schedule.

Beach volleyball takes place during the same period of time, only in a place with more sand, and schedule is stacked.

Weightlifting

These bouts are divided based on the weight lifted (i.e. how strong the athletes are). The heaviest objects will be lifted from August 7-11, and medals will be awarded every day. Here are the Full agenda.

water polo

Just like volleyball, there are water polo matches. The whole two weeks of the Games. The events begin on July 27th And go to August 11The women’s gold medal match is August 10thand that of men is August 11.
