A Sydney stylist has reacted after criticism over his “extravagant” entrance at Australian Fashion Week.
Jamie Azzopardi, who is non-binary and uses they/them pronouns, strutted around Carriageworks in Sydney on Monday flanked by an entourage of caretakers tending to her extravagant dress.
However, not everyone was impressed by the spectacle.

Jamie responded to Carolina’s scathing remark on Tuesday with brutal candor.
‘They are not my “caretakers”, they are assistants and they are AMAZING at their job, they help me make sure I look meticulous and put together even when I have to create over-the-top looks, like this one so everyone can enjoy the fashion statements they deserve! FASHION WEEK!’ Jamie wrote on Instagram stories.
Azzopardi added that the dress was worn to respect the designer and avoid being dragged across a semi-wet floor.
‘I know you want to stand out at the front of fashion week and pretend you’re going to shows, but we all understand that designers, after your stunt last year, don’t want you near them, so if your goal is to sit down’ “If you come forward and publicly make uneducated opinions about how others choose to live, then my advice is to get a better hobby,” they continued.
