Chanel Maya Banks has filed a restraining order against her mother and cousin after they reported her missing just a month earlier.
The Gossip Girl alum, 36, who was revealed to have been found in Texas by police just hours after the family filed a missing person’s report, has been active on social media to claim she was “not missing.”
In court documents obtained by Us weeklyBanks filed a temporary restraining order against her cousin Danielle-Tori Singh on Thursday.
Additionally, he filed a civil harassment restraining order against his cousin and mother, Lutchmin Judy Kumar.
Chanel claimed in the documents that both her mother and cousin “acted together to harass and spread lies” in order to destroy her “credibility” and career.
The actress further alleged that the couple’s missing person report last month was “fabricated” and claimed that her husband of one year, Carlos, was accused of murdering her.
Chanel Maya Banks, 36, filed a restraining order against her mother and cousin after they reported her missing just a month earlier.
“They orchestrated this plan to publicly humiliate me and ruin my career as a professional actress,” she alleged.
Banks also claimed that on November 10, her mother and cousin broke in and ‘robbed’ her apartment while she was away.
Additionally, she claimed that the couple stole her husband’s work badge and placed an Apple AirTag in their vehicle to track his whereabouts.
The star, who attempted to distance herself from her family in October, later alleged that her husband was “assaulted” and caused “visible injuries to his face and neck.”
However, sources reported TMZ that Carlos already had marks on his body before Lutchmin and Danielle entered his apartment last month.
Banks claimed she filed police reports following the alleged incidents.
In addition to claiming that her husband was accused of murder, she also alleged that both her mother and cousin wanted to place her on 5150 psychiatric hold.
The Blue Bloods actress further alleged in the documents that the couple also sent text messages threatening to “weaponize the police” against her.

Chanel is requesting that the court stop Kumar and Singh from contacting her and has also asked that they stop talking about her publicly.
It comes shortly after the actress’s family insisted she had been “brainwashed” by a Christian sect.
When she was initially discovered, Banks said she was fleeing her family to be baptized by apocalyptic pastor Robert Clancey, who had recently announced a three-day ‘end-times prophetic meeting’ in Texas and claimed her family had abused she.
In turn, her loved ones bizarrely claimed that an impostor was impersonating her online.
At a press conference in Los Angeles last month, her mother and cousin slammed the abuse allegations as “false” and claimed the actress was being held against her will at the Christian group, before breaking down in tears.
Banks proved she wasn’t missing in dramatic fashion by sharing a YouTube video teasing an upcoming tell-all interview about her “toxic” family.
In an apparent attempt to refute the claims, Banks shared a YouTube video of herself preparing to speak about the bizarre saga, telling fans: “As you can see, I’m alive.”
“The interview is loading,” she added while looking at the camera with her face completely made up.
Banks also updated her Instagram bio to say: ‘I’M NOT MISSING. I just want to be free from a toxic woman and her family. INCOMING INTERVIEW.’
The star, who attempted to distance herself from her family in October, later alleged that her husband was “assaulted” and caused “visible injuries to his face and neck.”
After a two-week search for the star, who played Sawyer Bennett on Gossip Girl, the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) located a 36-year-old man in Texas, claiming they had found the actress unharmed.
Singh previously took to his Instagram Stories to share: “I have the TPD body camera still image that they showed us on Monday, November 11 at the Pacific Police Station in Los Angeles.”
This is the woman they are telling us is Chanel. We have told you that this is not Chanel. “They didn’t listen to us and closed the case.”
“This is why @ohhheychanel doesn’t post a video saying she’s safe because she’s not Chanel,” Singh wrote, after flying from Toronto to help with the search.
Singh previously said the LAPD update was “fake news” and that the woman they found and claimed to be Banks is an “imposter.” He added that he will continue handing out ‘Missing Persons’ flyers, ABC7 reported.
It comes after Banks took to social media with a statement in which she made a series of strong accusations against her family.
It was not immediately clear whether Banks wrote the posts herself on the account, which is verified and has made a total of 70 posts in more than three and a half years, according to KTLA.
She allegedly said on the social media site: “My name is Chanel Banks, I’m a 36-year-old American nobody,” adding that her family members “are all very ‘concerned’ about my current whereabouts.”
Banks, who also appeared in an episode of Blue Bloods in 2010, acknowledged that she had spoken to authorities amid the investigation into her alleged disappearance.

“I met with the police and verified that not only am I okay, but I’m finally free of my…family,” Banks said.
He alluded to his religious faith as a factor why he had cut off contact with some of his relatives.
“They say that once you are free in Christ Jesus, you are truly free, so six days ago I told my husband that he was going to be baptized by one of my favorite pastors, Pastor Robert Clancy,” Banks wrote. “He took me to the airport and then I was away for a week.”
She continued: ‘God said, “I’m going to give you some money and I was surprised when it showed up just like He said!”
Banks said God told her to move, so she took a first-class flight “to the Promised Land.”
The actress also said she was “issuing a wake-up call to those in high places who still have a soul and want to preserve it at a time like this.” Extend your hand. Help me.’
Banks said she “discovered hours before she left” that some of her family members “were vehemently seeking GUARDIANSHIP (i.e.) complete legal control.”
He added that ‘there will be no more lies’ and that ‘everything that is in darkness must come to light…thus says the Lord.’

However, Chanel has apparently moved on and one day before filing the restraining orders, she hopped on her Instagram account to celebrate the holidays on Wednesday.
“And we love you and hope you have a wonderful vacation shared with your loved ones,” she said, while her husband added, “It’s the best feeling in the world.”
Banks ended her statement by saying, “PLEASE DO NOT DONATE TO ANY GO FUND ME THAT SAY I’M MISSING, I’M NOT MISSING.”
Relatives of the actress had previously reported her disappearance, alleging that her husband Carlos Jiménez had not helped them in their search.
Police later said Banks, a resident of Playa Vista, California, had been located unharmed in Texas and that no criminal wrongdoing was suspected in the now-closed case.
Banks’ family says they last heard from her on October 30, when she texted her cousin Danielle-Tori Singh, who was leading fundraising for her urgent return.

In a short clip, both she and her husband Carlos could be seen sitting in front of a decorated Christmas tree while wearing festive outfits.
While looking towards the camera, Banks expressed: ‘We just wanted to say Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukah! Because this year it’s the same day.
“And we love you and hope you have a wonderful vacation shared with your loved ones,” she said, as her husband added, “It’s the best feeling in the world.”
