Arch Manning scored a touchdown on his first play of the game for Texas on Saturday night.

Arch Manning sent Texas Longhorns fans into a frenzy within minutes of taking the field Saturday night, throwing a touchdown on his first play and then running 67 yards for another just minutes later.

The star quarterback and nephew of NFL legends Eli and Peyton entered the game early in the second quarter after Heisman favorite Quinn Ewers left the field injured.

It wasn’t long before fans’ frustrations subsided, however, as Heisman talk centered on Manning while he was playing against UTSA.

On their first play of the game, on 2nd-and-9 at the UTSA 20-yard line, Manning threw a touchdown pass to DeAndre Moore Jr. to end the Longhorns’ drive.

Just seconds later, Manning recovered the ball deep in Texas territory before taking off and running a career-high 67 yards for another touchdown.

Fans took to social media to give their opinion, with one writing: “He should be the starter!”

Another added: “He’s the king,” before a Longhorns fan called him “a future Heisman winner.”

The current Heisman front-runner is teammate QB Ewers, who appeared close to tears as he walked off the field with his jersey over his head on Saturday night.

He suffered an apparent lower leg injury and limped to the locker room after a brief stay in the medical tent.

Entering the game against UTSA, Ewers had thrown for 506 yards and six touchdowns, with one interception.
