The Augusta shopping center in Georgia was closed after gunshots were heard inside.
Police were called at 1:43 p.m. Sunday after the incident, according to the Richmond County Dispatch. It is unclear if there have been any injuries.
The sheriff’s office said, “(The) investigation is in its early stages and no additional information is available at this time.”
Dozens of police and ambulances were seen swooping on the shopping center.
According to people inside speaking to the Augusta Chronicle, employees and shoppers took cover behind counters and inside bathrooms.
