Jaipur:
The Rajasthan government on Thursday suspended three doctors at a government hospital here for negligence after a pregnant woman was denied entry and had to deliver the child at the hospital gate, officials said.
Shubhra Singh, Additional Chief Secretary, Medical Education, said after the matter came to light, the department has constituted an inquiry committee with immediate effect, an official statement said.
Based on the committee’s report, three doctors of Kanwatia Hospital – Kusum Saini, Neha Rajawat and Manoj – were suspended after “gross negligence and insensitivity” on their part was found, the statement said.
A show-cause notice was also issued to Kanwatia Hospital Superintendent Dr Rajendra Singh Tanwar for negligence of supervision in the case, it added.
The incident took place on Wednesday when the pregnant woman was not admitted to hospital. She experienced pain during labor as she walked out and was forced to deliver the child at the hospital gate, officials said.
